Cathay Pacific

Last month Cathay Pacific presented their new uniform in Hong Kong. Traditionally the navy blue has always been the colour of the cabin crew´s uniforms but lately it seems that many airlines go for red or include red details. Personally I like red uniforms, it´s a colour that looks good on most people, conveys a certain human warmth and it kind of breaks a bit with the “old” inaccessible stewardesses. Besides, red meets the main objective of a uniform, to be easily recognized by passengers as a part of security on board.

Il mese scorso la Compagnia Cathay Pacific ha pesentato il suo nuovo uniforme a Hong Kong. Negli ultimi tempi, sembra che il rosso abbia preso il sopravvento nelle diverse divise di molte Compagnie Aeree. Anche se, per tradizione, il blu´e´il colore per eccellenza dell’assistente di volo, il rosso e´una variante che, personalmente non mi dispiace. Il rosso infatti, e’ un colore che si adatta alle varie tipologie e proietta un certo calore umano che rompe quindi con la hostess di altri tempi molto piu´distante e altiva. Oltretutto, aggiungerei che il rosso compie con il suo obiettivo principale e cioe´ farsi vedere dai passeggeri come , un costante punto di riferimento per quanto riguarda la sicurezza a bordo.

El mes pasado, la Compañía Cathay presento ´su nuevo uniforme en Hong Kong. En los últimos tiempos , parece que el rojo esta ´predominando en muchos uniformes de las Compañías Aéreas. Por tradición el azul marino siempre ha sido el color de la azafatas , personalmente el rojo no me molesta en absoluto, además es un color que queda bien a muchas tipologías y que trasmite un cierto calor humano y logra romper con la azafatas de tiempos pasados cuando eran más distantes y altero. Además , añadiría que el rojo cumple el objetivo principal que es el de hacerse ver por los pasajeros como, un punto de referencia importante para la seguridad a bordo.

Those who know me well will tell you that shoes are my big passion. When first I saw these platform sandals I immediately fell in love with them and I couldn´t resist to buy them even though I thought that it would be rather difficult to walk with these 12 cm heels. Surprise, but I discovered that it wasn´t and that they actually are rather comfortable, so I did downtown Stockholm without stumbling even once. Yes, I made it!

Per chi mi conosce, sapere che le scarpe sono la mia passione e´un dato di fatto; appena ho visto questi sandali su plato´me ne sono innamorata, certo sono alti ma, vi assicuro che sono comodissimi considerando che il tacco e’ di 12 cm il passo e’ piu´sicuro che sui famosi tacchi a spillo. Solo posso dirvi che, ho camminato per tutto il centro di Stoccolma fino al centro e non sono caduta nemmeno una volta. Prova superata!

Los que me conocen bien, saben que los zapatos son mi pasión; en cuanto vi esta sandalia con plataforma, me enamore ‘y no pude resistirme en llevármelas, aunque pensaba que igual, con el tacón de 12 cm iba a ser difícil caminar, pero, descubrí que no era así y que por lo contrario resultaron cómodos ya que me recorrí el centro de Estocolmo sin tropezar ni una sola vez. Prueba superada!

I’m sure many of you are preparing to go on holidays and in addition to the suitcase, you are preparing your beauty case. Space is always a problem, especially if you´re gonna fly as liquids are almost completely forbidden in you hand luggage unless each item it´s less than 100ml. For me as a flight attendant it´s the same even if the authorities sometimes are a bit more flexible, anyway there is always the hassle of having to put everything in small bottles. Most perfumeries sell combinations of creams especially for traveling that are ideal but when it comes to perfume I only bring samples, they are small and it gives me the chance to try various brands. What about nail polish? If you want to bring more than one, me for instance, I bring the ones from Mavala, they are small and come in many different colours. Now when your beauty case is prepared I wish you bon voyage!

Sono sicura che molte di voi, stanno andando in vacanza, e, a parte della valigia, state preparando il vostro beauty-case. Il problema di spazio e’ sempre da risolvere sopratutto se volate in aereo dove i liquidi sono pressoche’ vietati a meno che non siano inferiori a 100ml complessivamente. Certo, per me che sono hostess di volo, la cosa cambia quando sono di servizio, dato che , mi permettono un po’ di piu´ma, rimane sempre una scocciatura dover travasare bottiglie e bottigliette in piccoli flaconcini o vasetti di plastica. In molte profumerie, vendono creme in flaconcini ridotti e preparati per il viaggio, per quanto riguarda il profumo io mi munisco di campioncini che mi regalano le profumerie nei miei acquisti e me me porto un bel po’ , cosí ho anche l’occasione di provarne degl’altri che magari, incominciano pure a piacermi. Che fare con gli smalti quando te ne vuoi portare piú di uno? Bene, a me piace molto lo smalto Mavala, e’ piccolo e quindi te ne puoi portare piú di uno se vuoi cambiartelo come piace a me; quindi, adesso che il tuo beauty-case e’ pronto…buon viaggio!

Estoy segura que muchas de vosotras os estais preparando para ir de vacaciones y ademas de la maleta, estaís preparando vuestro nesecer. El problema de espacio, queda siempre una tarea que resolver, sobretodo si vaís en avión, donde los liquidos son casi completamente prohibidos, a menos que no sean inferior a 100ml en su totalidad. Tambien para mi, que soy auxiliar de vuelo, me proiben cuando voy en servicio, aunque tenga un poco mas de margen que los pasajeros, pero, queda siempre el incordio de tener que ponerlo todo en frasquitos y botecitos. En muchas perfumerias venden muchas combinaciones de cremas para ir de viaje que son ideales, para los perfumes yo opto por llevarme solo las muestras de los perfumes que suelen regalarme en mis compras y asi poder tener la posibilidad de probar otros aromas. Que hacer para los esmaltes? Si te quieres llevar mas de un esmalte, yo por ejemplo, me llevo los de Mavala que son reducidos de tamaño y que tienen muchisimos colores diferentes; ahora que tu nesecer esta’ listo…te deseo buen viaje!

Today it´s one of these days when I miss my beautiful city. A part of my heart belongs to Rome and even though I go there quite a lot there is no place like home and the things you can do there. Strolling through the squares, streets and alleys is like traveling through time, you find small wonders that leave you open-mouthed. Here are some pictures from last spring when I walked the streets passing some well known tourist sights as well as some more authentic and not so well known places that like the Roman say fill “er core”.

Oggi sento un po’ di nostalgia della mia bella Roma! Certamente la porto nel cuore, ed anche se ci vado parecchio, mi mancano le cose quotidiane che sono irripetibili in altri luoghi. Passeggiare per le sue piazze, le sue vie e viuzze, e’ come un tuffo nel passato ma, e’ anche una continua scoperta di piccole meraviglie che riescono sempre a stupirti. Ecco delle foto scattete questa primavera dove ho ammirato luoghi conosciutissimi ed ho scoperto squarci di quella Roma autentica che mi riempe “er core”.

Hoy echo mucho de menos mi hermosa Roma! Esta’ claro que la llevo en mi corazón y aunque voy mucho, echo de menos las cosas que se viven en el día a día y que en otros lugares no se pueden vivir. Pasear por sus plazas, calles y callecitas, es como un chapuzón en el pasado pero también se descubren pequeñas maravillas que te dejan boca abierta. Aquí hay algunas fotos de la pasada primavera donde he pasado por lugares populares y he descubierto rincones de una Roma autentica que como dicen los romanos te llenan “er core”.

Rome is great for all kinds of shopping and if you take some time to look around I´m sure that you will find your own favorite shop – Michel Harem on Via Sistina.

If you ever been to Rome you understand why I included this photo and if you still haven´t been to this fantastic city you´ll understand after 5 minutes on your first visit.

The last day of school was very exciting and emotional, the choir was singing, the children received their dipolomas and there was a party. It was a day totally devoted to the joy of the children and it reminded me of my own childhood so I just kicked of my shoes and played on the grass like I used to.
ITALIANO/
L’ultimo giorno di scuola, hanno organizzato una festa dove grandi e piccoli abbiamo condiviso momenti di grande gioia ma, anche di grandi emozioni come l’ascolto del Coro e della consegna dei diplomi. Una giornata dedicata completamente ai ragazzi che mi hanno riportato a tempi ormai passati; per qualche ora mi sono sentita piccina ed anch’io ho giocato sull’erba del campo di calcio a piedi nudi.
ESPAÑOL/
El ultimo día de la escuela, han celebrado una fiesta donde grandes y pequeños hemos compartidos momentos de gran alegría y de grandes emociones como asistir a la entrega de los diplomas y de la escucha del Coro. Un día que se dedico’ por completo al disfrute de los niños y que me han recordado tiempos pasados; por algunos momentos me he sentido pequeñita y he jugado sobre la hierba del campo de futbol con los pies al desnudo.
