Roma – La Piú Bella

Trinita dei Monti and Piazza di Spagna seen from Via Condotti on a rainy evening.

ENGLISH/

Today it´s one of these days when I miss my beautiful city. A part of my heart belongs to Rome and even though I go there quite a lot there is no place like home and the things you can do there. Strolling through the squares, streets and alleys is like traveling through time, you find small wonders that leave you open-mouthed. Here are some pictures from last spring when I walked the streets passing some well known tourist sights as well as some more authentic and not so well known places that like the Roman say fill “er core”.

ITALIANO/

Sometimes it seems that you can find sculptures and monuments on every corner – courtyard on Via del Mancino.

Piazza della Rotonda – right behind Pantheon.

I saw this bike parked in the corner of Via Veneto and Piazza Barberini and immediately fell in love with the combination of colours.

Charlotte cake – the one and only – my favorite.

.Piazza Navona – a must see in Rome even if it can be rather crowded sometimes.

Many streets are covered with cobblestones - very nice but they are real high heel killers.

Enoteca Palatium on Via Frattina 94 – great dining - all products are from the Lazio region.

JP II – there will never be another like him.

More from Piazza Navona.

Rome is great for all kinds of shopping and if you take some time to look around I´m sure that you will find your own favorite shop – Michel Harem on Via Sistina.

Pantheon from behind – Roma Bella!

Yes you can still find a horse and carriage.

Did I mention that there are sculptures and monuments on almost every corner?

Green seems to be a popular colour this year.

And all from Lazio.

Small atrium / passage between Via Marco Minghetti and Via dell Umilta that most tourists miss.

Pizza – what else!?

This is from a small flower stand in the corner of Via dei Greci and Via Babuino – I really like the colours and combinations.

These fountains / sculptures are so nice that they deserve one more shot – Piazza Navona.

If you ever been to Rome you understand why I included this photo and if you still haven´t been to this fantastic city you´ll understand after 5 minutes on your first visit.

Piazza di Spagna by night – see you in Rome next time, ciao!
