Here comes the second part from the area  ”Passeig de Born” and “Jaume III” in Palma de Mallorca, like I mentioned in the last post of Downtown Shopping Palma we´ll have a look at other areas of the city later this spring.

Maria Valverde at the Loewe Fashion Show

E’ da anni che la firma di lusso di borse e accessori Loewe non presentava le sue collezioni a Madrid e,  proprio ieri ha sfilato nel “Jadin Botanico” della capitale spagnola. Tra le celebrities che hanno tenuto il piacere di essere invitate all’evento, Maria Valverde, attrice spagnola, portava una camicia e pantaloni della Sportmax, e pochette della firma Loewe. Un look primaverile semplice ed elegante. Complimenti!

Hace años que Loewe no desfilaba en Madrid y esto paso’ en el Jardín Botánico creando mucha expectación. Entre muchas celebridades invitadas, estaba la actriz española María Valverde que se presento’ llevando una camisa y pantalones de Sportmax con una cartera de Loewe. Un look de primavera simple y elegante. Enhorabuena!

It´s been years since Loewe had their last fashion show in Madrid so there was a lot of expectation in the air at the “Jardin Botanico”.  Among the many celebrities was the Spanish actress Maria Valverde wearing a blouse and trousers by Sportmax and a clutch by Loewe. A simple but elegant spring look. Congratulations!

Jeans Shirt Revival

Over the years, traveling through work, I´ve collected many things but since I love fashion I always preferred to buy some garments that reminds me of the places that I visited. These shoes for instance I bought in New York (although they are made ​​in Spain) and I immediately fell in love with them. I thought that they would go very well with today’s outfit, so I started to look for them among my shoe boxes (it seems that  I’m adding more of them every day). Anyway, when spring arrives there are garments that I suddenly remember that I have but sometime it´s not so easy to remember where I keep them. Oh, there they are right at the back of the wardrobe! Just what I need for a sunny day like today, with that annoying wind that tousles my hair.

Nei miei molteplici viaggi per lavoro, ho collezionato tantissime cose e siccome quello che piu’ mi affascina e’ la moda, ho sempre cercato quel qualcosa che potevo indossare e mi avrebbe ricordato il luogo dove ero stata. Ricordo aver acquistato queste scarpe a New York e pur essendo made in Spain (voglio dire che non erano autoctone), me ne sono innamorata a prima vista. Credo vada ad hoc con questo mio outfit di oggi, cosí l’ho ricuperate tra le molte scatole di scarpe che accumulo giorno dopo giorno. Ci sono capi che sembrano essere ormai parte del nostro armadio come lo e’ la camicia jeans. Con l’arrivo della primavera ce ne ricordiamo e la cerchiamo disperatamente nel nostro armadio ma: chissa’ dov’e'? Eccola lí, e’ proprio quello che cercavo, in fondo al cassetto e adesso mi serve piu’ che mai per una giornata piena di sole ma, con quel venticello leggero che mi scompiglia i capelli.

En mis viajes por trabajo, he coleccionado muchísimas cosas pero, ya que, lo que más me encanta es la moda, he buscado siempre algo que podía  llevar conmigo  recordándome el sitio que visité. Recuerdo haber comprado estos zapatos en Nueva York y aunque sean made in Spain (me refiero a que no son autóctonos) me enamoraron enseguida . Creo que casan  muy bien con el outfit de hoy, así que las he  encontrados en mis muchas cajas de zapatos que voy sumando cada día más. Hay prendas que con la llegada de la primavera nos vuelven a la memoria y que guardamos en algún sitio de nuestro armario pero: quien sabe dónde? Allí esta’, es justo lo que buscaba en el fondo de mi cajón y ahora la necesito más que nunca para este día de sol pero, con aquel  viento  molesto que me despeina.

Downtown Shopping Palma (1)

Hola chicas, esta vez os quiero llevar por las tiendas del centro de Palma de Mallorca. Esta’ claro que no es una grande ciudad pero, os puedo asegurar que hay tiendas muy bonitas, tanto de firmas de prestigio y conocidas como otras no tan conocidas pero muy atractivas. Me gusta pasear por Palma pues todo está’ tan cerca y te puedes perder por sus callecitas donde de repente tropiezas con pequeñas boutiques y tiendecitas que llaman la atención de cualquiera. El Paseo del Born y Jaime III son calles conocidas para el shopping pero, más adelante os enseñare’ otros lugares más escondidos pero muy interesantes.

Hi girls, this time we´ll have a look at the shops in the most central parts of Palma. The city might not be so big but there are some very nice shops, both from the well known brands as others not so well known. I really like walking around in Palma, discovering the small side streets where you suddenly find that special small boutique. Later this spring I´ll tell you more about some hidden treasures, but let´s start with a part of the city that I´m sure that you will spend some time in on your next visit; Passeig de Born and Jaume III.

Ciao ragazze, questa volta vi voglio portare in giro per i negozi nel centro di Palma di Maiorca. Certamente non e’ una grande metropoli ma, vi posso assicurare che ci sono negozi carinissimi, sia firme prestigiose e conosciutissime ed  altre un po’ meno ma altrettanto invitanti. Mi piace girare per Palma e’ tutto a portata di mano e ti puoi perdere per le sue viuzze dove d’improvviso trovi quello che cercavi o ti trovi di fronte a piccole boutiques e negozietti che invitano ad entrare a chiunque. Il Paseo del Born e Jaime III sono ben  conosciuti  per lo shopping ma, piu’ avanti vi faro’ vedere altri luoghi piu’ nascosti ma altrettanto interessanti.

Liz Taylor´s Best Dresses

Liz is gone and with her one of the most beautiful actresses in the world, everybody fell in love with her unusual purple eyes. We remember her in films as Cleopatra and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf  just to mention a few. She created three perfumes – Passion, With Diamonds and Black Pearls. She felt such passion for jewelry that she wrote the book “My love affair with jewelry” that includes all her collection. Some of her dresses are symbols of the great Hollywood films and for me personally she will always be one of the great divas. Goodbye Liz, farewell!

Con Liz se ne va una delle piu’ belle attrici del pianeta, i suoi occhi di un rarissimo color violetto ha innamorato tutti. Chi non ricorda alcune delle sue interpretazioni come Cleopatra o Chi ha paura di Virginia Woolf?  Ha anche lanciato tre profumi col suo nome Passion, With Diamonds e Black Pearls. La sua passione per la gioielleria la ha portato a creare una collezione di gioielli immortalata nel libro “My love affair with jewelry”. Alcuni dei suoi vestiti sono tutto un simbolo del grande cinema hollywoodiano e per me sarai sempre una delle grandi Dive mai esistite. Addio Liz!

Never Cast a Clout…

Official today is the day when spring begins, and even if we´ve had a sunny day here in Palma the forecast for tomorrow is rain. You better not forget your umbrella and raincoat at home ´cause as the saying goes “never cast a clout till May be out”. Here you have an outfit that works well for these days of uncertain weather.

Oggi, ufficialmente e’ iniziata la primavera ma, anche se quí a Palma di Maiorca  ha brillato un sole fantastico, le previsioni dicono che domani verra’ la pioggia. Bisogna tenere ancora l’ombrello e il soprabito a mano e come dice il detto: aprile non ti scoprire, maggio adagio adagio, giugno apri il pugno. Ecco un outfit che vi puo’ servire per questo tempo un po’ pazzerello.

Hoy es el día oficial que nos indica que la primavera ha empezado pero, aunque aquí en Palma de Mallorca ha brillado un sol esplendido, las previsiones para mañana dicen que habrá’ lluvia. Hay que tener a mano el paragua y el chubasquero y como dice el refrán: en abril, aguas mil y  hasta el 40 de mayo  no te quites el sayo. Aquí os dejo un outfit que os podrá’ servir para estos días todavía inciertos.

Ciao ragazze, la primavera e’ vicina ormai,  e con l’arrivo del tempo buono siamo invogliate a rinnovare un po’ il nostro armadio.
