There are bags that you get tired of sooner or later and finally they only lay around collecting dust someplace, and then there are bags that never goes out of fashion like the classics. Lately it seems that we´re having a vintage revival. Maybe it´s because we´re nostalgic or maybe we´re running out of ideas? I leave you to draw your own conclusions, but to me what´s beautiful is a personal choice and therefore not all of us like the same fashion! Here are some bags from the shop windows in Rome that transmits certain sense of nostalgia to me but with a creative twist in the choice of colours. In fact these colours, red, orange, purple and violet reminds me of summer and the trends this year.

Ci sono borse che con il tempo ti stancano e finiscono con l’occupare un posto nel nostro ripostiglio ma,le borse che non tramontano mai sono sempre le classiche. Ora come ora, stiamo più che mai ritornando al passato, al revival e al vintage. Sará perché abbiamo nostalgia dei tempi che furono o perché abbiamo ormai esaurito la fantasia? Lascio a voi trarne le conclusioni, ma per me il bello é una scelta personale e, quindi non necessariamente piacciono a tutti le mode del momento! Questa carrellata di borse delle vetrine romane mi trasmettono un senso di nostalgia ma con un tocco innovativo nella scelta dei colori, infatti il rosso, l’arancione o persino il viola o violetto mi fanno pensare ai colori dell’estate e delle sue tendenze.

Hay bolsos que con el tiempo te llegan a cansar y terminan ocupando un lugar en nuestro altillo, pero las bolsas que nunca pasan de moda son siempre las clásicas. En este momento, estamos más que nunca volviendo al pasado, al revival y el vintage. ¿Será porque tenemos la nostalgia del tiempos pasados o porque hemos acabado nuestra imaginación? Os dejo sacar vuestras conclusiones, pero para mí lo bello es una elección personal y por lo tanto no necesariamente las modas nos gustan a todos por igual! Estas bolsas de los escaparates de Roma me trasmiten un sentimiento de nostalgia, pero con un toque creativo en la elección de los colores, de hecho, el rojo, el naranja o el color púrpura o violeta, me recuerdan el verano y su tendencias.

Tommy Hilfiger & Horses

During Easter I took the opportunity to do some excursions on the island and one day I was invited by a good friend to see an exhibition of beautiful Spanish horses and other breeds. What a feeling of freedom it was watching the horses gallop! For this occasion I wanted a simple and casual look, so I chose a striped tee and a pair of jeans from Tommy that are fashionable again this spring. To “stretch” the legs a bit I wore a pair of casual wedge shoes from Replay that are very comfortable even on a day in the countryside.

Durante queste vacanze di Pasqua, ne ho approfittato per fare alcune gite nell’isola. Sono stata invitata da una cara amica a vedere un’esibizione di cavalli bellissimi di razze spagnole ed altre. Che sensazione di libertà sento nel vedere i cavalli galoppare! L’occasione aveva bisogno di un outfit semplice e casual e quindi ho scelto un paio di jeans di Tommy a zampa di elefante che tornano di moda questa stagione e una maglietta a righe dello stesso stilista, per slanciare un po’ la gamba, ho indossato queste scarpe casual ma con un tacco a zeppa della Replay comodissime anche per una giornata in campagna.

Durante estas fiestas de Pascua, aproveché la oportunidad para hacer algunas excursiones en la isla. Fui invitada por una amiga muy querida a ver una exposición de hermosos caballos de razas española y de otras. ¡Qué sensación de libertad que siento al ver los caballos al galope! Para esta ocasión era necesario un look sencillo y casual, así que elegí un par de jeans Tommy que vuelven a estar de moda estas temporada y una camiseta de rayas del mismo estilista, para estilizar un poco las piernas, llevo unos zapatos casual de cuña de Replay muy cómodo, incluso para un día en el campo.

Think Green…

Green is not one of my favorite colours, but I don´t mind olive green at all and during the fall is a great alternative to black and brown. You could spot a lot of “military green” on the catwalks lately, especially in different camouflage combinations, a must this year that you can find as fluorescent print for the most daring. If you prefer the classic camouflage I can reccomend the shopping bag from Prada that you can find in green or gray. Which one do you prefer?

Il verde non è uno dei miei colori favoriti ma, il verde oliva non mi dispiace affatto anzi, con l’arrivo dell’autunno lo si vede come uno dei colori terra alternativo al nero e al marrone. Negli ultimi tempi però, si è imposto nelle sfilate di molti stilisti con la nuance del cosidetto “verde militare“, un colore che per l’estate è un must per chi ama il camouflage e che per, la ormai prossima estate, potrete trovare anche in versione stampe fluo per le piú intrepide. Per le più fedeli al classico camouflage consiglierei la borsa Prada tipo shopping, da scegliere tra le due versioni verde o grigia. E voi quale preferite?

El verde no es uno de mis colores favoritos, pero el verde aceituna no me desagrada del todo, incluso con la llegada del otoño es uno de los colores tierra más visto y una alternativa al negro y al marrón. Últimamente, sin embargo, se ha impuesto en las pasarelas de muchos diseñadores el “verde militar” sobretodo en version camuflaje, un color must para el verano que se acerca y que, esta temporada, se puede encontrar con estampado fluó para las mas atrevidas. Para los más fieles al clasico camuflaje aconsejaría no prescindir del bolso Prada shopping que existe en dos colores verde o gris. Cual prefieres tú?

Winter Cap With Pompom

If I had to live in Sweden for sure I could not do without a cap as it´s absolutely necessary to have one to cope with the cold. This one is made of wool with some rhinestones here and there and I used it a lot in Stockholm. I saw different types, the most beautiful ones were made of fur but they were rather expensive, even if they were synthetic, and some like mine but with the pompom made of hair. I thought that it was a bit strange that I did not see any felt slouch hats but maybe it´s because in a country where its´s cold and just a few hours of daylight during the winter you want to take advantage of these hours. What about you, what´s you kind of cap?

Se dovessi vivere in Svezia certamente non potrei fare a meno del cappello. È un capo indispensabile per ripararsi dal freddo, questo che indosso è in lana con degli strass quà e là e mi ha fatto molto comodo a Stoccolma. Ne ho visti di diversi, quelli più belli sono in pelliccia e abbastanza cari, anche se sintetici ma, ne ho visti tanti simili al mio con il ponpon in pelliccia, strano mi sono detta, quelli di feltro con ampio revers dovrebbero essere più in voga ma, forse, nei paesi freddi si sente il bisogno di camminare a viso scoperto per approfittare delle poche ore di luce; tu che ne dici? Che tipo di cappello ti piace?

Si tuviese que vivir en Suecia está claro que no podría prescindir del gorro.Es una pieza indispensable, para hacer frente al frío, el que llevo es de lana con unos strass aquí y allá y lo he llevado mucho en Estocolmo. Los he visto de varios tipos, los más bonitos sin duda eran los de pelo y bastante caros, aunque sintéticos, he visto también muchos parecido al mío pero, con el pompón de pelo, raro me dije a mi misma, se debería ver mas los de fieltro con solapa ancha, quizás es porque, en los países fríos se necesita aprovechar de las pocas horas de sol que hay durante el día; y tu que dices? Que tipo de gorro te gusta?

When A Waistcoat Takes The Lead – At The Vatican

Well, we ´ve seen it everywhere, the fur waistcoat is a must this year and I´ve almost exaggerated it but living on an island where it´s not too cold I can wear with just a sweater or wool dress. Here I´m wearing it together with a suede dress during my last stay in Rome. Of course it´s not a garment that is too elegant, it´s more suited for casual looks, for example it´s great for a relaxed jeans look. If you really want to wear it for a special night, then you should choose a longer model than the one I´m wearing, preferebly gray or black, matched with black leather or satin gloves adorned with Swarovski or a small rosette, the result is sophisticated and original. For sure it will draw the attention and admiration from others. Try it and let me know how it worked out.

Ebbene, l’abbiamo visto ovunque, il gilet di pelliccia e´un must di quest’anno; io ne ho fatto un uso forse esagerato ma, abitando in un’isola non troppo fredda me lo posso godere con un maglioncino sotto o un vestitino di lana, quí lo indosso con uno scamiciato in renna che ho indossato nei giorni passati a Roma. Certo non e’ un capo elegante ma, va portato per un look basicamente casual, i jeans sono una variante azzeccata. Ma se veramente ne vuoi acquistare uno per una serata speciale, compratene uno grigio perla o nero magari un po´piu’ lungo del mio e portalo con dei guanti alti in pelle nera o raso pesante adornato con degli strass o con un fiocchetto, il risultato sara´sofisticato e originale, sono sicura che farai colpo su chi avra´il piacere di vederti. Provaci e fammi sapere.

Bueno, lo hemos visto por todo, el chaleco de piel es un must para este año; y lo he llevado casi de manera exagerada pero, al vivir en una isla no hace mucho frío y puedo disfrutar llevándolo con un suéter o un vestido de lana, aquí lo llevo con un vestido de antes que llevé en los días que pasé en Roma. Está claro que no es una prenda muy elegante y se adapta más a un look casual, llévalo con vaquero para un resultado desenfadado. Si realmente quieres llevarlo para una noche especial, entonces eliges un tipo de chaleco más largo que el que llevo yo, en gris perla o negro y conjúntalo con unos guantes en cuero negro o satén adornados con swarovski o con un lasito, el resultado será sofisticado y original, estoy segura de que causarás sensación a quien te mire. Pruébalo y cuéntame que tal.

Hey guys, this outfit I made specifically for a contest organized by Chicisimo and El Corte Inglés, where you can find everything and especially the most prestigious and recognized brands. Personally I go there a lot and I enjoy spending some time looking at the latest fashion. My last buy was this Ted Baker bag in a fuchsia shade of pink in patent leather that adds a touch of colour to this dark outfit. What do you think? Do I deserve your vote?

Another Way To Wear It

Well, as I told you, on my last vacations in Rome I was wearing this waistcoat practically all the time. This time in a casual but yet elegant way with a wool skirt and a basic tee. Over it I wear a trench coat and the shoes are retro style with laces. I had a nice walk downtown and on Via del Babbuino I stopped for a cappuccino, something that I never miss when in Rome.

Beh, vi avevo avvisato, non me lo sarei tolto di dosso e ne ho fatto il mio capo principale nelle mie vacanze passate a Roma. Quí l’ho voluto portare in maniera un po´piu´elegante ma informale con una gonnellina in lana e una maglia basica. Il tutto portato sotto un impermiabile classico e un paio di scarpe con i lacci stile retró. Una bella passeggiata a Via del Babbuino dove mi sono fermata solo per prendere un capuccino che non mi posso assolutamente perdere quando mi trovo a Roma.

Bueno, os advertí, no me lo he quitado de encima y lo he convertido en la prenda principal en mis vacaciones pasadas en Roma. Aquí lo llevo de manera informal, pero un poco más elegante con una falda de lana y una camiseta básica. Encima llevo un impermeable y un par de zapatos con cordones de estilo retro. Di un agradable paseo en la calle Via del Babuino donde me detuve solo para tomarme un capuchino al cual nunca renuncio cuando estoy en Roma.

My Fox Fur Waistcoat

Shopping, I passed a shop window that caught my attention, so I went inside to have a look, saw this leather waistcoat and fell in love. On my last trip to Rome, it became my main garment, easy to match, soft and comfortable, but above all fashionable. Traveling a lot, over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that luggage becomes an obstacle and that a bag should be light and easy to bring. In fact, I don´t like traveling with suitcases, briefcases, beauty box etc. It’s so easy to move around an airport especially if you have to make a transfer to another airline, without having to go back to check-in and pass the security control, if you only travel with hand luggage. In my next look I´ll be back with the same waistcoat but in a different way, do not miss it …

In giro per negozi, passai davanti ad una vetrina che mi invito’ ad entrare e dando un’occhiata vidi questo gilet di pelliccia e me ne innamorai subito. In questo viaggio a Roma me lo sono portato e ne ho fatto il mio principale capo, confortevole, morbido e piacevole da indossare ma, sopratutto alla moda. Viaggiando spesso, ho capito attraverso gli anni, che la valigia e´un ostacolo e che deve diventare un accessorio leggero e comodo. Infatti, odio andare sull’aereo piena di valigie, valigette e beauty-case; e poi, e´cosí comodo spostarsi negli aeroporti, sopratutto se si deve fare un transfert con un’altra Compagnia senza dover fare il check-in un’altra volta e passare il controllo di polizia. Insomma, ritornando al gilet, non me lo sono tolta di dosso! Con il prossimo outfit vi faró vedere la variante indossando questo stesso gilet, non te lo perdere…

Yendo de compras, pasé por delante del escaparate de una tienda que me llamó la atención y entré para echar un vistazo, en seguida vi este chaleco de piel y me enamoré. En el último viaje a Roma, lo convertí en mi prenda principal, combinable, suave y cómoda de llevar, pero, sobre todo, de moda. Viajando a menudo, me he dado cuenta, en los últimos años, que llevarse la maleta llega a ser un obstáculo y que por lo contrario debe convertirse en un accesorio ligero y cómodo. De hecho, no me gusta ir al avión llena de maletas, maletines y neceser. ¡Es tan fácil moverse en los aeropuertos, especialmente si tienes que hacer un transbordo con otra compañía sin tener que volver hacer el check-in y pasar el control policial. En definitiva, volviendo al chaleco, no me lo he quitado de encima! El próximo look llevaré el mismo chaleco de diferente manera, no te lo pierdas…

H&M And Harpers Bazaar

Hola chicas, este mi outfit lo he realizado de manera especial para el concurso organizado por H&M y Harpers Bazaar para premiar el look más elegante. Ojeando las revistas de moda y mirando los desfiles de los estilistas más prestigiosos, me he dado cuenta de que la colección pre-fall está llena de sorpresas, el color es un punto esencial, en particular el color KLEIN es un color de tendencia, aquí lo he conjuntado con el negro clásico, una chaqueta de H&M con un corte particular y vanguardista, completando con un sombrero de fieltro que otorga al conjunto un toque de elegancia impecable. ¿ Tú qué opinas? Do you remember when I was in Rome for Easter? The weather was pretty bad, it was raining and the only sunny day I took the opportunity to take some photos of a spring outfit. I was wearing the leather jacket matched with light colours like pink anticipating the good weather. High-waisted trousers are back and are more chic than ever and besides I believe that they look good on most people. What do you think?

Vi ricordate quando sono stata a Roma per Pasquetta? Il tempo era stato abbastanza grigio e uggioso ma, l’unico giorno di sole , ne ho approfittato per scattare queste foto sul mio outfit prettamente primaverile. Infatti, la giacca di pelle indossata con colori tenui come il rosa ci anticipa la buona stagione che sta per arrivare. I pantaloni alti in vita sono di qualche anno fa ma, ritornano ad essere indossati piu’ che mai. Trovo infatti che stanno bene un po’ a tutte, voi che ne dite?

Os acordáis cuando estuve en Roma para el lunes de Pascua? El tiempo fue bastante gris y lluvioso pero, el único día de sol lo aproveché para sacar algunas fotos de mi outfit totalmente primaveral. Claro está que la cazadora de piel que llevo con juntada con colores claros como el rosa, anticipa el buen tiempo que está por llegar. Los pantalones de talle alto de hace ya unos años, regresan más que nunca. Encuentro que quedan bien casi a todas, tú qué piensas?

Can’t Live Without Sunglasses

I can´n live without my sunglasses, so I have quite a few of them as they are important to me. Sometimes it even happens that my friends make fun of me saying something like “as an Italian I have a real obsession with them”, but that´s not really the case. Apart from the fact that sunglasses protects the eyes from bright sunlight they can bring harmony to a face, complete our daily look or outfit, give us certain degree of privacy and some air of mystery. It often happens that when we see someone with sunglasses we ask ourselves: who´s that?

Io non posso vivere senza i miei occhiali da sole, ne ho parecchi e per me e’ un’esigenza. Spesso mi sento “canzonare” dicendomi che come italiana ho la fissa; ma, non e’ cosí; gli occhiali a parte di proteggerci dal sole e dalla luce intensa, ci incorniciano il viso rendendolo piú armonioso, completano il nostro look quotidiano, ci consentono di mantenere il nostro anonimato e ci danno quell’aria misteriosa che ci rende attrattivi a chi ci guarda. Non per altro quando si guarda una persona che porta gli occiali da sole ci domandiamo: chi sará mai?

Yo no puedo vivir sin mis gafas de sol, por esto tengo muchas y para mi es una exigencia. A menudo se “ríen” de mis numerosas gafas diciéndome de que como italiana tengo una verdadera fijación pero, no es así. The trip to Madrid and Cibeles was not planned but a last minute decision, anyway it paid off and I enjoyed myself among fashion lovers and people that wants to share their style with others.
